NeoStove is the brainchild of the founder Surya Prakash. During his master’s study at TU Delft, he began cooking with a gas stove and he experienced first-hand the heat leakage which made the kitchen hot. Realizing that the heat leakage also causes excess gas consumption, cooking time and carbon emissions, he decided to work to solve the problem.
Surya prototyped a space-inspired cookware concept that captured heat more efficiently from his home gas stove. With this concept, he won the Hague Innovators Challenge 2020 competition enabling him to incorporate his idea into the startup NeoStove. Due to the startup's space link, NeoStove was accepted into the prestigious 2 year European Space Agency Business Incubation Center Program at Noordwijk, along with funding from the European Space Agency and the Netherlands Space Office.
Having graduated from the program in July 2022, Surya has now assembled a motivated team of relentlessly resourceful builders, with background from MIT and TU Delft, to accelerate NeoStove's product development. The latest prototypes have already shown promising results.
